QUALIFICATION

Qualification is a program to differentiate award winning filmmakers from the average filmmakers.

Types of qualification:

World Film Council offers five different qualifications: in two majors:

Majors

General Filmmaking

Merit points from different skills: directing, producing, writing, acting, etc.

The qualification mark would be (LWFC). (Example: John Smith, LWFC).

Specialized Skills

Qualification from a specialized department, like screenwriter, editor, cinematographer/actor/actress. To receive a specialized licentiate qualification, a filmmaker must submit 5 merit points from the same field

Example: if you are an actress, then you have to have 5 competition awards as an actress (not necessary from one film). If you are an editor, you have to submit at least 5 competition merits to get your licentiate qualification in that field.

The qualification mark would be (LWFC-directing), (LWFC - editing), (LWFC - special effect), etc.

Note:

1. Merit points used in General Filmmaking can be used here as well. Please read the FAQ for more information.
