1. What is the different
between qualification and certification?
A certification is earned through
passing the exam of basic and intermediate knowledge of filmmaking.
A qualification is achieved through winning film competitions/festivals.

2. When can a filmmaker use
his/her
certification or qualification title?
A filmmaker can use a title after
he/she is graduated in an Award Ceremony. World Film Council held
Awards Ceremony 4 times a year. At the graduation, a graduated
filmmaker will receive his/her certificate of accomplishment, along
with a pack of graduation package.

3. Can I put two
qualification or certification
from World Film Council all together?
A filmmaker can only put the
highest qualification mark from the same major or the highest certification
mark he earns from the organization
after his name.

4. May a filmmaker rejoin
the organization after a period of absence?
Filmmaker can join the
organization again after submitting the application and submission
fee from his/her last qualification and certification, and the annual membership fee.

5. Is the qualification
and certification applied only for directors?
The title is available for all
parts of filmmaking, including director, producer, editor,
scriptwriter, acting, cinematographer, make-up and hairstylist,
production designer.

6. Can I still hold the
title when I'm no longer a member?
Filmmakers can only use the title
he/she gets from World Film Council when they are still active
members; both for qualification and certification.

7. I can't attend the
Awards Ceremony due to one or other reason, but have passed the
qualification or the certification exams. When can I use my
qualification or certification?
A filmmaker is entitled for
his/her qualification or certification even though he/she couldn't
attend the Graduation Ceremony after he/she received the
certification, graduation pack, and the medal (optional) at his/her expense.

8. Do I need to win
awards to qualify for World Film Council membership?
Yes. At least you must be
involved with a minimum position of a Department Head or supporting
actor/actress in a winning film to qualify.

9. I am the director,
producer, editor, and the screenwriter of my film, and I got an
award only for the film (for instance, Award of Excellence in short
film). How many points
will I get?
This is how to count your points
to get Licentiate designation:
As a director and producer = 1 point (in general category)
A filmmaker must have 5 points to have a qualification.
As an editor = 1 point (in
specialization in editing)
A filmmaker must have 5 points to have a qualification in editing.
As a scriptwriter = 1 point (in
specialization in scriptwriting).
A filmmaker must have 5 points to have a qualification in
scriptwriting.

10. I am
a cinematographer or a lead actress or Head of Department in a
film that win an award. Will I be eligible for a merit point?
Yes.
|
11. As a
qualified member of WFC, can I get a recommendation letter for
my clients?
Yes. We provide reference and
recommendation letters to CFM, FWFC, M.Film and GM.Film holder, upon
request by your clients.
